One of the oldest Albanian educational institutions abroad was founded in Venice, in September 1500, by Albanian emigrants, who were forced to leave their homes after the invasion of the Homeland by the Turks. The first school teacher was Marin Biçikemi. The school was of a technical-professional character. The faculty of the facade of the school, which represents the struggle of the Albanian people for freedom, is preserved today.
