In the ports of Durres and Shengjin on June 18, 1914, the English and French warships were anchored. After them, there were also German and Italian combat ships. This was the show of the “zeal” of the Great Powers, to guarantee independence, order and tranquility in the new Albanian state, but also a sign of their rivalry, which led to the outbreak of World War I.
