On December 17th, 1920, Albania was admitted to the League of Nations.A decisive role for this played the British diplomacy that had begun to be interested in Albanian oil-bearing resources. The Foreign Office, offered his services on condition to give the Anglo-Persian society, the exclusive right to seek and exploit Albanian oil. The government of Iliaz Bey Vrioni, unconditionally accepted the British request and Albania became a member of the League of Nations.
