In Maligrad church, built in Prespa Lake, in April 1345, inside a high rocky cave, are preserved until today, some medieval wall paintings, with great artistic and historical value. On its upper part, is the image of Christ, by blessing with two hands. Below, is reflected Kesar Novak prince of the province, together with the family by dedicating the temple to Saint Mary. The image of the secular sponsor and his family members gives to the works of church national spirit and makes them closer to the new trends of European Renaissance.
