In Korca, on January13th, 1871 was born writer and freedom fighter Mihal Grameno. Since he was young immigrated to Romania, where he was involved in the political movement, as a member and secretary of the society “Drita”. He took part in the Congress of Monastery and fought with guns at Çerçiz Topulli çeta. For his activity he was jailed several times by the Ottoman government. Grameno, is one of the founders of the Albanian journalism during the Renaissance area. We face his name in the pages of many works and notebooks of the time, while the newspapers “Lidhja Orthodokse ” and “Koha “, were published and directed by him.
